Student Voice

Student Voice

Our Student Voice is a group of elected students who represent the student body and work to improve the school community. They are the ‘voice’ of the students and work to make sure that the students' concerns are heard by the School. The Student Voice team also plan and organise events, fundraise for charities, and work on sustainability projects.

Some of the projects we have completed are:

  • Planned and organised events:, Foodbank collections, such as charity bake sales and our Diversity Day. These events have boosted school spirit and morale.
  • Fundraising: we provide logistical support and plan events like ‘Good Causes Week’. We also have supported fundraising for the Breast Cancer unit at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. We have also raised money for numerous global disaster relief campaigns.
  • Working on service projects: we have organised a tree planting session in and around the Challney vicinity. We have also facilitated a community clean up.
  • Making recommendations to the administration: We have made various recommendations to the Senior Leadership on how to improve the school, from a reduction in food wastage to increasing the recycling capacity within the school.

The Student Voice team strive to:

  • Represent the views of our pupils
  • Promote positive relationships by leading by example
  • Greet visitors and show them round the school
  • Lead assemblies
  • Be involved in the appointment of staff
  • Raise funds
  • Lead on school improvement projects

The Student Voice Team meets twice a half-term to discuss school improvement, work on specific projects and plan charity events. The Student Voice Team liaises with the SLT link to organise an agenda. Concepts from these meetings become a reality via communication with relevant members of staff and external agencies.
